A Mandate must be created in order to make collections from the Debtor. A mandate is a legal payment agreement between the company (Creditor) and the customer (Debtor). The mandate is a unique ID that also identifies the customer in Uniconta.
The payment agreement must be signed by the debtor before any charges can be made. It is recommended to contact your own bank to ensure that the agreement is drawn up correctly according to applicable rules.
Creating Mandates
First, the mandates must be created in Uniconta. This can easily be done under Debtor.

Here you can create a mandate for a single debtor or a selection of debtors.
Select the debtors you want to create a mandate for and then click the 'Create mandates' button.
In the dialog, select the format and schema type (Core, B2B) with which to create the mandates.

Under Accounts receivable/Maintenance/Mandates you can manage all mandates.

Here is an overview of the fields.

Mandate vs Alternative Mandate
Uniconta will automatically generate a unique Mandate ID. For new customers, the automatically generated ID is a good choice as it ensures a unique ID.

There may be situations where you want to define a Mandate Id yourself and this can be done by specifying an Id in the Alternative mandate field. The Mandate field is replaced with the value in Alternative mandate.
Note: There is no validation for unique ID when using the Alternative mandate. You must therefore ensure that the ID is unique.
