To assign a serial number or batch number to an existing item in the warehouse, you can do the following without affecting finances.
Example of assigning a serial number - also applies to batch numbers
To test if the batch serial number has been added to the inventory record, you can click "Batch/serial number" on the inventory record and the attached serial number will be displayed on the inventory record.
If the serial number has not been assigned, check if a stock item has already been assigned to the batch/serial number or if there is a number in the "Number sold" field, if so, either remove this by first recalculating the stock, if this does not work, you can remove the number via data manipulation.
Prepare the item for serial number use
Go to Lager/Goods Select the item to create a serial number for and edit the item. On the item, find the "Batch/serial numbers" field, select "Serial number" and save the item. In the item overview, select the item again and click the "Batch/Serial number" button in the menu. Create the serial number to be associated with the item and click "Save".
Add serial number to an existing record (purchase and/or sales)
To add a serial number to an entry, you need to be aware of the following.- A serial number must not have a "Start count" or a "Quantity" noted on the serial number
- If a serial number is to be assigned to a purchase, it must not have been assigned to a sale before. The serial number must first be registered on a purchase and then a sale.
- If the serial number has already been added to a sale, the serial number must be removed from the sales record before it can be added to the purchase record and then applied to the sales record.
