Unit conversion is used to convert units in the warehouse. Unit conversion makes it possible to buy in barrels and sell in liters, or buy on pallets and sell in packages.

ATTENTION! Uniconta does not support does not support device conversion for serial and batch numbers.
You get the following error message when purchasing: No definition of conversion from device to storage device found.
Create the unit conversion group
Select the Add button to create a new unit conversion.
Enter a code for the unit conversion in the Group field and a name in the Name field (Both Group and Name are alphanumeric).
Select the Save button to save the unit conversion setup.
Define the unit conversion setup
After creating a device group, you need to create the unit conversion setup itself.
Select the device group and select the Lines button on the ribbon.
On the lines you need to fill in the following:
Below is an example of 1 box containing 100 packages, this could be when purchasing 1 box and then reselling 1 package
Below is an example of a "bucket" of oil containing 158.9873 liters (42 UD gallons - one barrel), which is used for purchasing and then selling the oil in liters.
When using unit conversion, you need to be aware of the following when creating items.
Selling items with unit conversion
Create the sales order/sales invoice in the normal way and add the item to the order line. In the example, 1 pack of pens is sold at the sales price indicated on the item card.
Purchase/sale line items with unit conversion
The stock entries show that we have purchased a quantity of 100 and sold 1, which is calculated via unit conversion.
Turn the feature on
In order to use unit conversion, it must be enabled under Company/Maintenance/Turn features on/off by checking the Unit conversion box under the Logistics module.
Create unit conversion
Select Lager/Maintenance/Unit conversion
- 'Unit' to convert from (Here we recommend using the largest unit, e.g. a pallet contains 20,000 pieces)
- 'Factor', the number of pieces that go on the selected unit being converted from (e.g. 20,000)
- 'Unit' to convert to (e.g. pieces)
- The 'From' and 'To' fields are then automatically filled in so you can see the result of the conversion.



Setting up item with unit conversion
Select Lager/Items and select the Edit button on the desired item
- The cost price should be the price for 1 item. (The example shows that a pack of pens costs 20.00 DKK in cost price)
- The selling price (both 1, 2 and 3) must be the price for the number of items included in the unit sold (The example shows that based on our package that we sell, the selling price is 30.00 DKK for 1 package)
- Select the sales unit for the item (this unit is the one selected in the unit conversion setup)
- The purchase price must be the full purchase for the purchased unit (The example shows that our purchase price is the DKK 2,000.00 from the cost price multiplied by the number of packages in the box. If you want automatic updating, select it under Company/Maintenance/Preferences)
- Select the purchase unit for the item (this unit is the one selected in the unit conversion setup)
- The device sold in
