Change in conversion We have changed the conversion process for debtor and creditor records, as it is our experience that it gives a better and correct result. Now Uniconta first imports all records without trying to close records against each other. After import, Uniconta will run an automatic equalization. Exchange rate differences from C5 are now included in the debtor and creditor transaction itself, and are no longer a separate record. Notes on debtors, creditors and goods are now imported in the conversion from C5. | ✓ |
Account numbers are left aligned
All account numbers in Uniconta are left-aligned, as account numbers are allowed to contain anything other than numbers. The account number field is a text field and therefore account numbers are sorted as text fields are now sorted. Account numbers in C5 are right-justified and will be in a different order after conversion.Right-justified account number order in C5 | Will look like this as left-handed in Uniconta | To avoid Unicontas left-justified account numbers, there is an option to insert 0s at the beginning of the C5 account numbers during conversion to make them equal length. They will look like this: |
2 21 100 1001 2001 10009 |
100 1001 1001 10009 2 2001 21 | 00002 00021 00100 01001 02001 10009 and they are similar to C5 |
Change account number
Subsequently: In Uniconta, you can freely change the account number. If you don't want prefixed 0s, it's easy to change the account numbers in Uniconta after conversion. All postings and references are also changed automatically. This means that either the leading 0s must be retained or the chart of accounts must be renumbered. Re-numbering is easy via the Edit All tab, where you can run through the entire chart of accounts row by row (just like in a spreadsheet) and enter a new account number on top of the old one."Deleted codes"
In C5, you can delete a value/code (department, VAT code, payment code, etc.) even if it is specified in an account or an entry. You can't do this "live" in C5, but data can be data manipulated. In Uniconta, you cannot delete a value/code that is set on an account or an entry. Uniconta does not allow a field to have a code that does not exist. During the conversion, the conversion program checks if all these codes exist before assigning them to a record or an account. If they do not exist, the field is left blank.Entries in Finance, debtor and creditor
Uniconta and C5 have a number of similarities in the entries. If you post to a debtor or creditor in the cash journal, the posting creates an entry in the debtor/creditor account. At the same time, an entry is created in the collective account in Finance. In Uniconta, there is also a field on the posted financial entry that shows which debtor/creditor account was originally on the entry. When the conversion is running, everything is booked from scratch in Uniconta. This ensures that everything is correct. All financial entries from C5 Finance are loaded into Uniconta's accounting journal. One cash journal is created and posted per financial year. The next step is to load the debtor and creditor records. First, we load them into memory. Then we take one entry at a time and find the original entry in the accounting journals we just created. This entry has the collection account listed on it. We now replace it with the debtor/creditor account, and we have created the "original" entry. When we search for the "original" debtor/creditor entry in the accounting journal, we only search for accounts that are collective accounts. This is because we can only replace the account number of a draft entry with a collective account, as we need to ensure that the posting leads back to the collective account. Note! We find C5's collective accounts by looking in the debtor and creditor groups. If you once used a different collective account on a debtor/creditor group than the one you use today, we are missing the account number and cannot replace the account number on the draft entry. If we encounter a debtor/creditor entry where we can't find the original entry, we need to insert 2 extra entries in the draft. We insert an entry in the debtor/creditor account and a counter entry in the debtor/creditor summary account so that they offset each other during posting. Once everything is loaded, the converter posts the accounting journal, and when all cash journals are posted, the converter runs the "Create opening entries" for each fiscal year.Invoices from C5
Please note that there may be differences in the content of the original invoice lines and invoice headers. This applies to all conversions. There are two methods for converting invoices from C5. So far, we have read the invoice lines from ("LagPost"). By default, we read from exp00071.kom, which is "OrdLinieArkiv". If this file does not exist, we read from LagPost exp00055.kom, which is the file with stock entries. The reason is that order lines without item numbers are not in LagPost. Some people prefer to use the "old" method LagPost. In this case, you simply delete the exp00071.kom file in the export.Decimals on item cards in C5
Please note that if you want all invoice lines imported to Uniconta from C5, you must ensure that the decimals on the product card in C5 correspond to the decimals on your invoice lines. If you have ears on your invoice lines, decimals must also be marked on the product card, possibly 2 pcs.Uniconta's conversion tool supports:
