Automatic account selection allows you to set up rules so that account fields are automatically filled in when loading bank statements.
Automatic account selection can be set up in different places in the system:
- General ledger/Bank Reconciliation/Load File and Auto Account Selection button
- General ledger/General journals/Import Bank Statements and Auto Account Selection button
- General ledger/Bank reconciliation/match lines button/Add posting rule button
Setting up automatic account selection (clause 1+2)
- For example, select General ledger/Bank Reconciliation/Load File and the Auto Account Select button
- Select the Add Transactions button
- For example, if you want all items where the text contains the word 'Interest' to be posted to account 4310, enter the following:
By checking one of the last three boxes, you define whether the search text should be at the beginning of the text on your bank statement, exactly (equal to) the text, or just part of the text (contains).
- Enter as many posting options as you want
- Select the Save button and now import your bank statement in the usual way.
