Copying data to and from Uniconta via copy and paste is now made easy and simple. It's a quick way to copy and paste data without having to do an export or import first.
You can copy from and paste into a so-called grid, i.e. a screenshot. When copying from a Uniconta grid, the content is saved on the Clipboard and can be reused in e.g. Excel, Word etc. It can also be pasted to compatible grids in Uniconta. For example, from the order lines grid to the purchase lines grid if you need to order goods from a customer order or vice versa.
Maybe you need all the balances from the chart of accounts for a new budget in Excel, it's easy to copy the entire chart of accounts grid and paste it into an Excel sheet.
ATTENTION: Remember that when using the Copy/Paste function, column headers must be exactly the same. Including upper and lower case letters. Furthermore, you can only copy from programs that use columns. This means, for example, Uniconta itself and Excel.
The button provides these choices:
Standard copying to "Clipboard"
Selected lines. Lines are selected by holding down the Ctrl keyand clicking/selecting lines with the mouse.
Select all copies the entire grid, everything the screen can show, whether it is visible or not. For example, if you're in the chart of accounts or accounts receivable, Select all will copy the entire chart of accounts or accounts receivable with fields displayed, even if you haven't scrolled through all the entries to the bottom.
"Microsoft Word" copying to "Clipboard"
Selected lines. Lines are selected by holding down the Ctrl keyand clicking/selecting lines with the mouse. Copied in Word table format.
Select All copies the entire grid, everything the screen can display, whether it is visible or not. For example, if you are in the chart of accounts or accounts receivable, Select all will copy the entire chart of accounts or the entire accounts receivable with fields displayed, even if you have not scrolled through all the records to the bottom. Copied in Word table format.
For the above functions, everything is included from the columns shown. In other words, you can insert, hide and show exactly the fields you want to include in the copy to clipboard.
Once you have copied content to the clipboard, you can open Word, Excel, Notepad etc. and select "Paste". This is a quick way to copy data without having to do an export first.
Even screenshots with many records can be copied to the clipboard. There is a limit of 1,000,000 records in Excel.
The Clear clipboard button deletes all data in the "Clipboard"
Paste from Excel. This item "Pastes" data from the "Clipboard" into Uniconta.
Using the "Update from Excel" function, data from Uniconta can be customized in Excel and copied back into Uniconta to be updated.
Updated based on key values, for example, a chart of accounts can be updated based on account number, as the account number is unique.
NOTE: If an attempt is made to update values that do not exist or are not accessible (e.g. blocked), the data will not be updated at all. Not even on the "correct" lines.
If there is no unique key, it is possible to update line by line. This allows records that are in the same order in Excel and Uniconta to be updated.
NOTE: This method is more uncertain.
Everything must be ordered from the wholesaler, as we do not carry stock.
The Ctrl key is held down and the ruler highlighted in yellow is clicked.
Click the clipboard icon in the ribbon and select: Selected lines.
Then only the selected lines are copied to the clipboard and can be pasted into a purchase order etc.
Copy to clipboard
In the top right corner of Uniconta there is a button: Copy to clipboard.

Update from Excel.

Copy between screens in Uniconta
The contents of the clipboard can also be pasted into Uniconta. However, with certain limitations. The content can be copied into all grids where lines can be created. This includes the cash drawer, order lines, stock drawer and other places where lines can be created. However, they must be "compatible" grids. You can't paste from an accounting journal to order lines, as they are not "compatible". Purchase lines and order lines are compatible. Invoice lines and stock entries are also compatible with order and purchase lines. This means you can find an old invoice, copy the lines and paste them into a new sales order. Here's an example of how you can use a newly created order, or any order, to create purchase order lines via Copy & Paste. This is useful for items you only order as needed, "buy on demand", and do not have in stock.Copy/Paste examples
A new sales order has been created with these order lines:
- Create a new purchase order and open to purchase lines.
- Place the cursor on the first purchase line and press CTRL+V (Paste) or select "Paste from Excel".
Copy only selected lines
You can copy just one or selected lines. To select a line, click on the line and select Selected lines in the Clipboard icon. To select multiple lines, hold down the Ctrl key and select the desired lines: Here the order is extended with several lines, only selected ones need to be copied to a new purchase order.
