Uniconta banking solutions
Bank Connect is one of the three banking solutions Uniconta offers. Below is a brief description of the three solutions. You can read more about the individual solutions via the link under each item.
Bank Connect
Bank Connect is a collaboration between the Regional Bankers Association, Local Banks and the three data centers:
- TCS
- OCI
- Bank data
Joint solution for the majority of Danish Banks. Thanks to the collaboration between the three data centers, the joint solution Bank Connect will apply to more than 60 banks. Among them are 14 of the 16 largest banks in Denmark – including Jyske Bank, Nykredit Bank, Sydbank, Handelsbanken, Spar Nord Bank and Arbejdernes Landsbank.
Uniconta will retrieve account statements daily or several times a day for the accounts that are registered. The bank transactions are loaded directly into the bank reconciliation.
- Danish Bank and Nordea are not included in this solution
- Is part of AutoBanking, which is a Uniconta Add-in
- Ability to receive today's bank transactions
- An appointment must be made with the bank

Mastercard Open Banking (formerly Aiia)
Mastercard Open Banking creates a connection between the bank and Uniconta. It does not require an appointment with the bank. The connection is created via mobile banking login and Mitid/NemId
- The solution covers most Danish banks and many foreign banks. Find the list of all Mastercard Open Bank supported banks via this link
- Is part of AutoBanking, which is a Uniconta Add-in
- Bank transactions are downloaded automatically 2-4 times a day

Nordea
Is a direct integration to Nordea. As a Nordea business customer, you will be able to make an appointment with them so that Uniconta retrieves yesterday's bank transactions every morning, which are loaded directly into the bank reconciliation.
- Is part of AutoBanking, which is a Uniconta Add-in
- Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish accounts available with Nordea
- Yesterday's bank transactions only
- An appointment must be made with the bank
Read more about Nordea and the Setup in Uniconta here.
Setting up a Bank Connect connection
Bank Connect is part of AutoBanking, which is a Uniconta Add-in. Autobanking is activated automatically when you start using the solution.
For Uniconta to gain access to retrieve account statements, a Bank Connect appointment must be made with the current bank.
- Contact the bank and create a Bank Connect appointment
- Receipt of appointment document from the bank
- Receipt of activation code via SMS/letter from the bank
The appointment document contains a customer number, which must be used to create the connection between Uniconta and Bank Connect. In addition, as a customer you will receive an SMS/letter from the bank, which contains an activation code.
The connection is created under Bank reconciliation. At least one bank must be created in the bank reconciliation. Read more here.
Only one Uniconta company can be connected per Bank Connect appointment. However, multiple companies can be linked to the same appointment.
Registering for Bank Connect is located under Functions in the menu and is called 'Connect to Bank Connect':
In the dialog box, the following must be completed:
Function
Select Register here
Service id
Is stated in the appointment document. It may have different names depending on which Bankcentral the bank is affiliated with.
It may be called Bank Connect ID, Function ID or Appointment ID.
Note: The typical error in connection with registration is that an incorrect Service id is entered. Below you can see how many digits a Service id has for each Data Center. Find which data center the current bank uses here.
BankData: Service id is typically 13 digits and is stated in the appointment document. It may be called Bank Connect ID, Function ID or Appointment ID depending on which bank it is.
BEC: Service id is typically 11 digits and is stated in the appointment document. It may be called Bank Connect ID, Function ID or Appointment ID depending on which bank it is.

Connected banks can also be found directly at Bank Connect here.
Activation code
Received via SMS/letter from the bank.
You will then receive the above info box if the connection is created correctly.
Otherwise, you will receive a notification that a connection could not be established. This may be due to an incorrect Service id/activation code. There may also be other reasons why the connection cannot be created.
It is also recommended to check the status page at Bank Connect, as they may have technical issues that prevent a connection from being established. The status page can be found here.
Link company to existing Bank Connect connection
Multiple Uniconta companies can be connected to the same Bank Connect appointment.
It is relevant to use this function if the bank accounts linked to the Bank Connect appointment are created in different Uniconta companies.
The above is an example of a company being linked to the company Alt til havet.
'Alt til havet' has had the connection to Bank Connect created and is therefore the master company.
It is the master company that technically will receive all bank statements. The individual statements will then be allocated to the linked companies.
Unregister Bank Connect connection
A Bank Connect connection can be unregistered. This means that account statements are no longer retrieved.
Note: The appointment with Bank Connect is not unregistered. Only the connection between Uniconta and Bank Connect is unregistered.
Note: If AutoBanking is disabled under 'Configure application functionality', account statements will no longer be retrieved. There will still be an active connection to Bank Connect and the bank will continue to generate account statements for Bank Connect. If AutoBanking is activated again, please note that all the account statements the bank has generated in the intervening period will be loaded into Uniconta.
Move Bank Connect appointment to a new Uniconta company
There may be situations where you want to move your Bank Connect appointment to a new Uniconta company. This can be done by following the instruction note below:
- First unregister the Bank Connect connection for the company that should no longer be registered
- Order a new activation code in the bank
- Then register the new Uniconta company for Bank Connect
Receipt of account statement
When the connection is created, Uniconta will retrieve account statements daily for the accounts that are linked to the Bank Connect appointment.
Uniconta queries the bank every hour in the following time interval from 6:00 to 21:00 on all bank days.
By default, the account statement will be loaded into Bank reconciliation.
There is also the option to load the account statement directly into a journal. The setup is done on the individual bank account. A 'Journal' must be specified when 'Load bank statement into journal' is activated.
Note: If transactions are loaded directly into the journal, they are not loaded into Bank reconciliation.
Uniconta can read the following formats from the bank:
CAMT.053
Contains yesterday's transactions. The account statement is typically received in the morning between 6:00 and 10:00.
Note: By default, Uniconta will always be able to receive CAMT.053.
CAMT.054
Contains notifications “during the day” + possibly FI notifications. Uniconta queries the bank every hour in the following time interval from 6:00 to 21:00 on all bank days. The extract can be ordered for one or multiple times during the day. This setup is done in the bank.
Note: Contact Uniconta support to be able to receive this type of account statement.
CAMT.052
Contains a transaction overview (same content as CAMT.054). Uniconta queries the bank in the following time interval from 6:00 to 21:00 on all bank days. The extract can be ordered for one or multiple times during the day. This setup is done in the bank.
Note: Contact Uniconta support to be able to receive this type of account statement.
General information for all types of account statements. Account statements are not generated on weekends and public holidays, as clearing is not run in the banks on these days, so even if transfers occur during the weekend, they will only be posted/cleared on the next bank day.
Here is an overview of what the individual data centers and thus banks offer customers.
| Format | ISO 20022 | BankData | BEC | SDC |
| Transaction overview | camt.052.001.02 | X | X | X |

Registering bank accounts in Uniconta
In the bank reconciliation, you must create all the bank accounts you have registered for Bank Connect via your bank.
Danish bank accounts
Danish bank accounts (the bank's own accounts) are identified with a so-called BBAN (Basic Bank Account Number). What we in Denmark know as e.g. 8075-0001149999.
Uniconta searches for registration number and bank account in connection with loading the account statement. Bank accounts are set up under bank reconciliation.
Bank routing number
Must always be filled in with 4 digits. Below are examples of correctly filled in routing number:
8075
0400
Bank account
Must be filled in without a leading zero. Below are examples of correctly filled in bank account:
1149999
or with a leading zero, so that the total number of digits is ten.
0001149999
Note: Please note that there must not be a space at the end of the bank account or registration number. This can happen when you copy the account number in.
Service id
It is recommended to fill in the Service id, as it will then automatically be inserted in the dialog box when communicating with the bank.
Foreign bank accounts
Foreign bank accounts are identified with an IBAN number.
Uniconta searches for the IBAN number in connection with loading the account statement. Bank accounts are set up under bank reconciliation.
Bank log
In the bank log, all communication with Bank Connect is registered and any errors can also be seen here.
![]()
The log is opened via the above menu item. The bank log is described in detail here.
Bank reconciliation
It is recommended to retrieve the 'Info' field, as it contains additional information regarding the transaction. If foreign currency is deposited into the bank account, it may also be beneficial to retrieve the fields Currency and Amount currency.
When using Bank Connect, it is important to be aware of the following to optimize the automatic bank reconciliation in Uniconta.
For creditor payments, the bank reconciliation searches for the texts Ref:, Inv: or Acc:
It is recommended to change the text in 'Our message' to Ref:%5. A unique ReferenceId is inserted - a so-called EndToEndID. It is a referenceId that is included in the payment file and it is returned in the account statement. In this way, you have created a 1:1 relationship between the bank transaction in the account statement and the transaction in Uniconta.
If you find that the bank reconciliation is not optimal or that the transaction text is not sufficient, please contact our support and we will look into it, as we want to achieve the most optimal connection between Bank Connect and Uniconta bank reconciliation.
