The New Outlook
Microsoft has launched an updated version of Outlook with a more modern and streamlined design.
If you have previously worked with the classic version of Outlook, you may still be able to switch back temporarily, but this option will eventually disappear.
What changes in the new Outlook?
The new Outlook for Windows is built on a more modern and web-based architecture (based on Outlook Web App). Therefore, it no longer supports COM or MAPI. This means:
-
Classic COM add-ins do not work in the new Outlook.
-
Programs or scripts that communicate directly with Outlook via MAPI will no longer be usable.
- The new Outlook uses a web-based architecture and the data format has changed, which is not supported by WPF's native drag-and-drop functionality.
What does this mean for the functionality of Uniconta?
Due to Microsoft's above changes, it is no longer possible to drag attachments from the new Outlook to Uniconta - neither in the physical inbox, on the drag & drop icon or via the Drop window on Purchase orders / postings.
If you try to do this, you will most likely be met with a HRESULT error in Uniconta.
If you still want to use drag-and-drop, it can currently still be used in the old (classic) Outlook by opting out of the new Outlook in the top right corner of Outlook.
